Since 1993, Stephen has been involved in establishing several businesses on behalf of Goodacre’s clients. These include one of the largest share dealing companies in Europe and two private client Stockbrokers.
Prior to establishing Goodacre in 1998, Stephen held board positions at Extel, Hoare Govett, Societe Generale Security Settlements and Cater Allen. He is the author of the review, Systems for the Securities Industry and is also a regular presenter on business development and operational issues within the Securities Industry.
Stephen is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment, the Secretary of the Securities Industry Management Association and a Football Association referee

Phil Smith |

Phil has considerable experience of working within the Investment Industry. He began his career in 1977, providing customer services support for Centre-file’s Stockbroking client base. In 1984, he joined Extel where he gained invaluable knowledge selling their range of corporate action and international pricing data. In 1987, Phil joined Security Settlements (Equities Clearing) as Sales Director and thereafter spent 12 years with Telerate, the global provider of real time capital markets data, in a range of sales and senior management roles. |

Gary Sims |

Gary has worked within the Securities
Industry, employed by stockbrokers, banks and service providers
for more than thirty two years. Working for companies such as
Credit Suisse, Brewin Dolphin, National Westminster
(Centre-File), Hoare Govett, Pershing Securities and Societe
Generale, he has had experience of most roles at almost very
level from office junior to client services Director.
He has also had experience in looking after many prestigious
investment houses in his role as Account Manager at Credit
Suisse (Citymax) and as Client services Officer at Pershing
Securities.
His experience, knowledge and professional contacts are his most
valuable assets. |

Stuart Valentine |

Stuart has lectured, written and regularly broadcasts on radio and TV on Financial and City topics. Author of Teach Yourself Banking & International Dictionary of the Securities Industry.
Stuart's past employment includes the London Stock Exchange where he worked in various roles within the Public Affairs Department for 17 years. In 1991, helped establish ProShare and also Director of Research & Representation. Finally moved to Securities Institute in 1998 to become Director of Public Affairs. |

Mike Jones |

Mike started his career in the city in the Stock Exchange Quotations Department, and then joined Sir R W Carden Stockbrokers as a private client portfolio manager. He became a Partner in 1970 and was Head of Portfolio and Pension Fund Management, and a Member of the London and Scottish Stock Exchanges. In 1984 he became Technical and Operations Director of ANZ Merchant Bank, following which he was appointed Chief Executive of Capel-Cure Myers Stockbrokers, and Chairman of Ridgefield Unit Trust Investments. Mike was a founder member of the Association of Private Client Managers and Stockbrokers, is a past Chairman, and chaired the Settlement Committee for a number of years. |

Alan Burr |

Alan has over 20 years' experience as an Executive Director with LCH.Clearnet and Meff, the Spanish financial futures exchange. He is a widely experienced consultant with substantial knowledge of both London and international financial markets.
Alan advises and trains on securities and derivatives operations. He is an authority on trading, clearing and settlement. |

Michael Wilson |

Michael Wilson is the Business Editor of Sky News, last year he was voted Business Broadcaster of the Year, and became a Freeman of the City. Michael originally joined Sky Television in 1989. In 1992 he left to present GMTV's early morning news and business hour. He then returned to Sky as Business Editor in 1995, and launched Sky Business Report. Michael has a long pedigree in news, business and current affairs. Before Sky he was a reporter and presenter on Thames TV's flagship This Week and, in 1987 he helped found Thames' award-winning The City Programme, where he worked as a reporter and main presenter. In the 1990s he also presented London News Radio's Breakfast Show and helped launch Reuters Financial Television. Outside work he's a keen runner and plays keyboards in a rock and roll band.

Emma Gold |
Emma read Politics at the University of Nottingham where she gained a 2:1 before joining Goodacre, where she is the Training co-ordinator. Since working at Goodacre she has organised The Daily Telegraph Wealth Management Awards at Kensington Palace and the Securities Industry Conference at The Royal Bank of Scotland’s prestigious Auditorium. Her previous work experience includes organising the hustings events and responding to public queries for the Mayoral Candidacy Campaign which successfully elected Boris Johnson as the Candidate for the Mayor of London. |
