Awards Ceremony

 Piggy Bank Kids Charity

This year Goodacre are supporting the PiggyBankKids Charity. This charity was founded by Sarah Brown, wife of the Chancellor of the Exchequer. PiggyBankKids supports charitable projects that create opportunities for children and young people, and has launched the Jennifer Brown Research fund to seek solutions to pregnancy difficulties and save newborn lives.

Goodacre have  managed to track down the largest known private collection of Money Boxes & Piggy Banks, with which it plans to raise funding for the charity. With well over 2000 pieces, interest in the project was generated during the Awards Ceremony, when Stephen Pinner asked for a silent auction for one of the most valuable specimens.

During the evening guests were invited to make an offer for the collectable porcelain piggy bank by writing their donation on a business card.

Towards the end of the evening Stephen Pinner invited Hartmut  Klein of Deutsche Borse to read out the bids.
The highest bid was made by Bob Whigham from Rhyme Systems. Bob was joined by Hari Padmanabhan, the repesentative from the new owning compnany 3i Infotec, to address the audiance.
